Historical small cap premium has definitely been impacted by target date funds and the explosion in popularity of s&p500 and total stock market funds. Not because they are comparable but because of fund flows. Both flows into those alternatives and because funds don’t often flow out of those alternatives even when small cap has a nice run up. This is VERY different from fun flows or fund rotation before TDF and Sp500 index clones.

Thanks. I’m on week 5 and I’m throwing the rest out. If I work out and eat less without the gpl-1 I’ll lose weight without the long term side effects of the gpl-1. N brainer Been following the micro dosing recommendations but this just has too much downside

Returned from Europe on June 29. Agree with Ben; I guess it's cheaper to bring young kids to Europe where they won't remember anything in later years than to pay a sitter to watch them at home.

‘Stocks for the Long Run’ was one of the first books I read in my career and remains probably my favorite or top 3 at least. He also spoke at one of our lunch meetings at Merrill Lynch in Princeton years ago (2008) for Wisdom Tree so I got to meet him.

"Why didn't low interest rates cause inflation in the post financial crisis period?" Because aggregate currency was not excessive AND the technology/web/automation/cloud revolution was a strong, deflationary force. Even though inflation rate-of-change measurements are currently coming down, anecdotally inflation's MOMENTUM still feels very high. If the fed lowers interest rates rapidly, I think prices would continue to rise at a rate that the hard working middle class can not endure (whether or not the Fed's measurements are consistent with empirical outcomes). If, however, Republicans regain control and turn down Congress' money hose, then interest rates can be lowered rapidly without a resurgence in inflation IMO.

  • @beau6113

if lowering rates wont give us inflation as evidenced by post-GFC difficulty in maintaining barely 2%, AND the money supply growth during 2020/21 caused the inflation... then that must mean there was no money growth during the post-gfc period, right?

This is what I will argue about J.Powell and the Fed. When were talking about the economy that went into instant recession after covid, the lower interest rates and definitely helped. However….. the buying of mortgage backed securities will be something that will haunt him and the rest of the fed members for a long time to come. So many young people being priced out of the current housing market.
